Request for Proposals, Duck Farm, Posted February 16
    The Watershed Conservation Authority is requesting proposals for Installation of Underground Electrical Line Conduit and Structures for the Duck Farm Phase 1A project in La Puente, CA
    A courtesy job walk will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 9am.
    The proposal must be submitted not later than 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2012.

.Request for Proposals, Wilderness Park, Posted February 16
    The Watershed Conservation Authority is requesting proposals to provide the requested purchase, installation of 4 generators and additional installation of 2” source piping for the Azusa Springs Water System located in the River Wilderness Park in Azusa, CA.
    A mandatory walk through of the system will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at 10:00 am at the WCA office.
    The proposal must be submitted not later than 3:00 pm on Thursday, March 8, 2012.

Request for Qualifications, Posted February 9
    Firms and/or individuals are invited to submit a Statement of Qualifications to provide water system operator services to the Watershed Conservation Authority (WCA), for oversight and operations of the Azusa Springs Water System.
     A mandatory walk through of the system will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 10:00 am.
     Proposals must be submitted not later than 3:00 pm on March 7, 2012.

Walnut Creek Habitat and Open Space Project, Updated December 12
     The Watershed Conservation Authority in partnership with the City of San Dimas i s developing a concept plan for the 60 acre property. has postponed the third and final Visioning Workshop — the January 12 Workshop was cancelled — to a later date in early 2012. The public is invited to share ideas and vision for the project site.

Proposed Fiscal Year 2011/2012 Budget
     The proposed WCA Final Budget for FY 2011/2012 was on the agenda for the Governing Board Meeting of July 28, 2011. The budget is available to be viewed here. [PDF file, 17 kb]

Canyon Inn Planning
     In November 2008 the WCA acquired the Canyon Inn property as the newest part of the Azusa River Wilderness Park. The WCA is currently in the planning process for the site, which includes identifying what activities and facilities will be provided. Find out more here.

PARK PLANS

Plans have been or are being developed for the following areas

  • Azusa River Wilderness Park — along Highway 39 in San Gabriel Canyon near the northern boundary of the City of Azusa. [More details]
  • Duck Farm — along the San Gabriel River on the northern portion of the former Woodland Duck Farm site in La Puente [More details]
  • Walnut Creek Habitat & Open Space Project — 60.9 acres located in an unincorporated area of Los Angeles County adjacent to the City of San Dimas.[More details]
  • Whittier Narrows Recreation Area — in the flood control basin behind Whittier Narrows Dam near the junction of the 60 and 605 freeways. [More details]
